I call this soup “Sister Soup” because it uses two of the “Three Sisters.” The "Three Sisters" refers to the three main agricultural crops of some Native Americans: winter squash, maize (corn), and climbing beans (typically tepary beans or common beans). This soup uses squash and beans. The recipe also uses honey, so this is a great recipe for Rosh Hashana, as it incorporates two of the simanim. Happy printing and happy cooking!
